A PTFE liner is a thin disc that sits inside a jar cap and forms the contact surface between the closure and the jar rim. For concentrate packaging, the PTFE face is the part that touches the product when a jar is stored upside down, shaken in transit or opened and closed many times.
PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is widely chosen for this job because of a few well-known material properties:
- Non-stick surface. Sticky extracts release cleanly instead of smearing into the cap.
- Chemical inertness. PTFE is known for very low reactivity with most chemicals, which is why it’s a common liner material for terpene-rich products.
- Heat resistance. PTFE handles high temperatures far better than common foam or paper liners.
- Clean, consistent look. A uniform liner face makes a jar look finished when the customer opens it.
Unlike a PTFE-lined lid, which we ship as a complete cap, a PTFE liner disc is sold on its own. That makes it the right fit for buyers who already have a cap supplier, stock their own closures, or want to upgrade an existing jar line without changing the cap tooling.
